About Supriya

Supriya Singh is a writer and sociologist of money and migration. Supriya was born in India and moved to Malaysia in 1967.  In 1986, she migrated to Australia. She lives in her homes in Melbourne and Dharamshala, and has two sons and three grandsons.

Supriya is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Social Inquiry at La Trobe University, Australia. She is a founder member and on the board of the Multicultural Women’s Alliance Against Family Violence, Australia. Supriya is also on the Advisory Board of the Social and Development Research and Action Group (SADRAG) in Noida, India. She is a Distinguished Alumna of Delhi School of Economics and an Illustrious Alumna of Miranda House, University of Delhi. 

She chairs the IEEE global activity ‘User-Centered Principles for Artificial Intelligence Used in Evaluating Family Violence.’
