“Bank Negara Malaysia celebrates its 25th anniversary on January 26, 1984. This occasion started us thinking of a book about the Bank.

“The central banker is often regarded as cold, somebody who deals with things others don’t understand. We wanted a book that would tell of the people who work here, of those who have made Bank Negara what it is today… This is possibly the first book of its kind on a central bank. Central bankers seldom talk of themselves… We hope this book will give a reasonable insight and some measure of understanding of the Central Bank to as many people as possible”
